Thanks to 277 generous backers for our Interfictions Indiegogo Campaign, we raised $10,318 by the time our campaign ended at midnight, July 14th, 2014. When we launched on June 3rd, we were staggered to find donations doubling almost daily, until after about 3 weeks we had reached our original target goal of $8,500, and were able to move on to our Stretch Goal of $10,000.
Which means we not only get to publish Interfictions Online for another year, but we can pay our contributors at higher rates now, rates more in line with the effort and talent that innovation requires. Thank you, each and every one of the 277 generous donors who stepped forward to say that interstitial art is valued and valuable. The number of people is as important as the number of dollars raised. We are awed by your generosity.
Now our work begins in earnest. We will immediately start organizing the delivery of rewards, and once Indiegogo releases the campaign funds to us (which usually takes a few weeks), we will begin sending those rewards out.
We hope you will also continue the conversation about interstitial art here on the blog, or on the IAF Facebook page. We’re upping our Twitter presence and revamping the IAF website, as well. But of course, the crown jewel to all our efforts this year is Interfictions Online, where we will continue to showcase some of the most interesting and uncategorizable art you’re likely to find.
If someone has only just discovered the campaign and wishes they could donate: It’s not too late! You can make a tax-deductible donation here at interstitialarts.org/join.
The IAF team is brimming with gratitude. We thank you for the opportunity you have given us to curate some of the most exciting works of art being produced today. We couldn’t be more excited. Get ready for a year of amazing art and discovery!
Finally: 277 generous backers donating funds to the Campaign would not have been possible without the nearly-uncountable number of people who donated in other ways: Beginning with the very generous artists who gave us Rewards from their personal collections ranging from prints and books to original work . . . the many folks on the Campaign Committee who got it going when it looked overwhelming, those who took over when the first wave flagged or handed the torch back & forth across the months of preparation and execution, and all who stayed the course to the amazing, triumphant end! . . . and, finally, each and every person who supported this Interstitial Effort by telling a friend. Thank you all – here’s hoping the Interstitial Arts Foundation & Interfictions are everything you need it to be in the coming year!
